Floor Seating (Low Tables)

Our solution for floor seating is to use 6ft plastic, folding tables (like the ones you can buy at Costco), but to keep the legs folded up and replace them with our own stands.

The stands are made from cut 2x4s and medium density fiberboard (MDF), which were simply screwed together. The 2×4 blocks on the top are arranged so that they cradle the understruts of the table, giving the stands a high level of stability. Only two stands are needed per table. As you can see, there was no need to finish the stands, as they are obscured by the tablecloth. The stands measure slightly more than a foot high.
